Ângelo Coimbra S.A. is a family company which has a long history, dating back to the mid-century XX, and which has remained throughout all these years in family hands.

The founder of the company was Mr. Ângelo Manuel Loureiro Coimbra, who started the business in July 30th, 1949, as "leather merchant" and importer of raw and tanned leather.

Quickly he extended the business to other sectors, becoming an importer and distributor of chemicals for different areas: tannery, textile, winemaking, agriculture, pharmaceutical, metal, ceramic, glass, glues, paints, varnishes, among others.

In 1970 the company Ângelo Coimbra & C. ª Lda was created.

With the death of Mr. Ângelo Coimbra in 1985, was his son in law, Mr. Germano Teixeira de Lima who succeeded him, continuing and increasing his work. At that time, the company has focused primarily in three sectors: Textile, Tannery and Oenology.

Since 2002, the two daughters, Mafalda and Claudia Coimbra Lima, have taken this project ahead.

The company has expanded its action to all the surrounding industries and has specialized in the food area, especially in the oenological sector.

In 2014 Ângelo Coimbra celebrated its 65th anniversary.

On the 28th of December 2016, the company is transformed into anonymous society, giving entry to new family members from the next generation.
